Questions you will help answer

Secret Escapes operates a centralised marketing structure to support the 21 markets we operate in.  We want to accelerate growth in a number of our scaling businesses by hiring a dedicated resource to own the marketing strategy for that market across channels.  You will help us crack the localised marketing approach for this region through a deep understanding of our proposition and how we need to tailor this for the local landscape.

This role will help ensure we hit ambitious growth targets through setting and owning the marketing strategy while working closely with centralised marketing resource to inform their execution with local insight.

You will find the optimal way of working between the local market GM and the centralised marketing organisation to ensure we trade-off nimbleness and localisation with the scale and best-practice of our channel specialists

Things you’ll be working on

Set local marketing strategy; own and deliver localised market research, proposition testing, competitor profiling and assessment of historic marketing results to ensure we have a unique plan for that market for success.  Working closely with the Marketing Channel Leads, CMO and GM to have a plan that everyone buys into and can execute.

Co-ordinate dedicated resource in the channel teams to deliver the strategy; pull together a pod team of channel specialists to execute your plan as well as co-ordinating closely with the Heads of Channels to align best practice and economies of scale.   Set ambitious targets and drive the team to success working closely with local market GM and sales teams.

Own the budget; working closely with our Revenue Function around measurement, optimisation, process and governance.

Work with Partnerships, Display and ATL teams to unlock untapped local marketing opportunities whether this is testing new channels, finding new partners, exploring new business models or agencies

Reporting into both the CMO and local GM you will have a cross-marketing pod team to co-ordinate, motivate and create a performance culture within.

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and analytical frameworks
  • Good understanding on all marketing channels and measurement framework challenges.
  • Expert stakeholder management and cross-functional comms skills
  • P&L exposure
  • Experience in matrix organisation

The Dutch and Belgium website of Secret Escapes launched more than a year ago. In June 2016 we opened up an office on the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam. The office and the location is great. There are a lot of eating option in the close vicinity of the office. Or you can just grab something to go and enjoy our lunch on our sunny rooftop terrace! We are a team of 5 in the Amsterdam office with ambitious growth plans. Once a month we travel to the Berlin office. It is always great to catch up with other team members, share best practices and enjoy after work drinks and food.
